And in a time where screens receive more attention than alters, what is the point of god but to serve? A prayer is no longer a devotion but a demand. With hands clamped around one another people take take take, ask ask ask, want want want; and expect their god to give give give. But the truth is that it is pointless to pray at all. God has no power here and only the unfortunate thinks he does. Afterall, in a world where you can buy your luck, what is the point of god but to convince the poor otherwise? To parade around as if one got everything they wanted in life from being ‘good’ or ‘obedient’ and not evil. They do this a lot, the notoriously wealthy. They look into the eyes of those with nothing and hide their bribes behind their backs all while claiming gods fortune. Yelling up and down their mansions and beach houses that god has simply favored them; all while there are people laying on concrete with spikes, praying for something as simple as a meal. God bless you, they say, as if ignoring the fact that god has abandoned them. At least I have him; God fixes all things; if he wants it then it will be. They preach about a being who has left them to rot. And I don’t know weather to cry out of anger or pity because I know this is wrong. Religion is a cage made by those who have paid their way out of it and the ones behind bars are still following the teachings of those who have cheated. This is not what god was made for.
